Sadly there are so many trainers who don’t know what they don’t know
They will call a dog stubborn or say it has attitude
I was one of them at one point
Then one day I made a choice
I would always ask others for advice when I didn’t know what to do
And if nobody gave me the right advice
I would keep looking
And if I still found none
I would take a break and recharge
And start again
Sometimes years went by before I figured out what I was missing
Bring me the trainer who has it all figured out
Ask them about that one dog they never figured out
I keep those ones deep inside my heart
They remind me how far I have come
And how much further I can still go
When I encounter another one
Who does not make sense to me
There are dogs who show us how little we truly understand them
That’s all there are
Even the worst dogs I ever met
Really were just the most misunderstood
